About BK Health

BK Health is a limited company, set up in 2003.

The directors are:

Dr. Justin Amery, Chair

Justin Amery became a GP in Oxford in 1994 and is a GP trainer and Tutor in Primary Care at the University of Oxford. He has a special interest in children's palliative care, patient-professional partnership and the use of IT to empower patients to become more involved in their health care. He has published in all of these areas. He founded OxHealth Ltd in 1999, and through this worked closely with the NHS and DOH to develop patient access to the national programme for IT and NHS Direct online. As a result of this work, he founded BK Health in 2002 to improve care for patients in areas where access to primary care services is limited.

Mr. Stuart MacFarlane

Stuart MacFarlane has a post graduate qualification in management and has been involved in the business of caring for over 20 years - initially in the provision of elderly care facilities nationally, and more recently in the development of our primary care services across the UK.

Dr. Blythe Wilkinson

Blythe Wilkinson became a GP in Oxford in 1997.
She is a GP Principal and a Tutor at Oxford University. She was involved in our research and development of electronic patient accessible health record. She has a special interest in Clinical Governance and is a QOF Assessor. She leads on clinical quality for BK Health.

Dr. Cecilia Pyper

Cecilia Pyper became a GP in 1976 and has worked in Oxford, as a doctor for Helen House Hospice and as a Tutor in Primary Care at the University of Oxford. In 1999 she attained a National NHSE Primary Care Career Scientist Research Award. She has a specialist interest in electronic health records research, reproductive health research and the evaluation of community participation programmes.

Miss Claire Crook

Claire was involved in our R&D activity as Project Manager: Electronic Records Development & Implementation Project, and Health Records Infrastructure Project (both completed NHSIA projects).
She now has 7 years experience in the GP primary care sector, with particular focus on IM&T, data quality, Patient Services, and organisational processes for high quality service delivery.
